We are a popular, independent award-winning bar and restaurant in the East Lothian village of Whitecraig, near Musselburgh. We are a family run venture with a great team and ambitions to grow and develop our business. We’re looking for the right bar and restaurant manager to join us and help us drive the business forward.

The Mercat Grill has a great reputation for our fine, locally sourced and quality food, range of drinks (we have an extensive collection of 300 + whiskies, craft gins, local ales etc) and high levels of customer service. As well as for our food & drink, charity, dog and sports related events (like Doggy Coffee Mornings, NFL Nights, Six Nations etc).

We are currently looking for an experienced bar & restaurant manager to join the management team and support the owner, in driving the business forward. It will be an exciting role because we have great expansion plans for our operation.

We are looking for someone with an outgoing personality with the ability to engage with our different customer bases. This is a fully hands on position, where you’ll be working front of house, occasionally supporting the kitchen team and within the office, managing bookings/groups/emails plus handling the Mercat Grill’s social media.

Previous bar & restaurant management experience is essential as is a passion and flair for hospitality with strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to lead and motivate the team, assist with in-house training, manage rotas, stock ordering and budgets. And work alongside the owner, to help grow and develop the business and most importantly, deliver a first-class experience for our customers.
